Postgraduate diploma (or higher)
- MSc (or equivalent) degree confirming completion of 2nd / long cycle (graduate) studies.
- Background in architecture, urban studies or heritage preservation.
- Approved portfolio or dossier.
- Appointed thesis supervisor from the list approved by the Faculty of Architecture.
- Very good command of English (instruction in English) or Polish (instruction in Polish).

STEP 2: Upon receipt of an Approval Letter from a prospective research supervisor, registration at DREAM APPLY platform and applying for a chosen PhD programme, filling in an on-line application form and uploading scans of your documents:

The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Polish.
Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
If documents are submitted in other foreign language, they have to be sworn translated into Polish, and then legalized or apostilled
You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.

Doctoral studies at the Faculty of Architecture provide advanced skills necessary to prepare and defend doctoral thesis in the scientific discipline of architecture and urban planning. Course focus on the fields of research that are conducted in the institution, inter alia: theory of architecture and urban planning, “research by design”, architectural research (field works), heritage preservation, urban studies (included social and economic issues), theory of art and history of architecture. During the course PhD students will improve their didactic skills, social competence and scientific methods adequate to their individual research.

II. Profiling electives:
Winter semester: information about the electives (selection of items 1 or 2 – out of three) will be sent 1 month before the start of the semester .
II. Scientific practice
- PhD seminar profiled according to selected research topics
- Summerising seminar (annual report of the research activity )
III. Professional practice
Limit of compulsory teaching hours to be conducted by PhD student is 60 hours per year
- PhD students will have an opportunity to conduct classes in English
IV. General university electives
The graduates have the knowledge and skills in the fields of architecture and urban planning.
The graduate is qualified to work as:
- an employee of design companies, cultural institutions, etc.
- a senior clerk in state institutions, urban authorities, heritage service etc.
- a member of analytics groups (think-tanks),
- a tutor / a lecturer / a researcher.
