Note 1: Citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, i.e. the countries of former USSR, are permitted to apply for Polish Card (the Card of the Pole), which entitles its holders to choose whether they wish to study on the terms applicable to Polish nationals (no tuition fees for full-time studies) or those applicable to foreigners (tuition fees applicable). Note 2: Foreigners granted a residence permit (to settle in Poland) or an EU longterm residence permit, those granted temporary or complementary protection in the territory of the Republic of Poland or with a refugee status granted by the Republic of Poland, despite being non-UE/EFTA citizens, study on terms applicable to Polish nationals (no tuition fees for full-time studies).

STEP 2: Upon receipt of an Approval Letter from a prospective research supervisor, registration at DREAM APPLY platform and applying for a chosen PhD programme, filling in an on-line application form and uploading scans of your documents:

The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Polish.
Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
If documents are submitted in other foreign language, they have to be sworn translated into Polish, and then legalized or apostilled
You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.
Original documents must be submitted + 1 paper copy upon arrival at GUT.

Courses focus on a variety of topics according to individual interests of both the supervisor and the PhD student, including some soft skills subjects such as data bases, economics, philosophy etc. The courses are scheduled individually by the supervisor based on all the subjects offered at Gdansk University of Technology by all the faculties within third cycle or second cycle of studies. Students may choose courses that will help them to perform their PhD project. Since the subjects of PhD projects are variable, there is no compulsory programme. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to select the appropriate courses.
The graduates have the knowledge and skills in the fields of materials engineering – variable areas.
The graduates can be employed as research staff, academic staff, design engineers, quality engineers.
